This 78-kilometer-long river begins in the Alborz Mountains in Savadkouh and after passing through the forests and rice fields of west Babol joins the Caspian Sea. The river is a popular spot for water sports. One of the most important features of this river is the 873-meter-long and 78-meter-high Alborz Dam, the biggest embankment dam of the country, built over the river.
