Zangouleh Dome is a mudbrick structure located west of Damghan. The structure has a rectangular plan and 6 meter tall walls which each have a door. A beautiful dome once capped this structure but no trace of it remain today. There are several grave markers inside the structure.  Locals believe one of these markers belongs to  one of Ya'qub ibn al-Layth al-Saffar’s (840 – 879) commanders named Zangaroud and one belongs to 11th century Persian poet Manuchehri Damghani. Zangouleh Dome was registered as a National Heritage Site in 1967.
