Poulad Castle is a 700-year-old structure located in Baladeh village. It is believed that the castle was a military structure used for the defense of the village. However, the Ab Anbars found inside the castle suggest in times of war large numbers of people lived within its walls. Like other castles in the Tabaristan area (modern day Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan, and the northern part of Semnan) with the fall of the Paduspanid (655–1598) rulers at the hand of the Safavids (1501–1736) this castle fell into ruin.
