Shush Museum is located in a garden across from the Mausoleum of Daniel the Prophet. The building was constructed using bricks from Chogha Zanbil and Susa excavations and was expanded over time. The museum opened in 1967 and was closed for a while before reopening in 2007.  The museum has 6 halls and houses items from the Proto-Elamite period (3200 - 2700 BC) to the Islamic era in the 7th century. The museum showcase items unearthed in Chogha Zanbil and Susa excavations including clay pots, vessels, oil lamps, glazed earthenware, daggers, swords, spearheads, armbands, clay coffins, statues of Elamite Gods and Elamite funerary artifacts. The museum also holds tile inscriptions in Akkadian, Elamite, Syriac, Aramaic, Pahlavi and Old Persian.
