The second largest protected area in Golestan Province, Jahan Nama Protected Area covers an area of almost 4,000 hectares and contains archeological sites, traditional summer villages as well as a wide range of wildlife and habitats such as Montane forests, steppes, grasslands and meadows.  This protected area has several springs and rivers including Sorkh Cheshmeh spring and Chahar Bagh River. Jahan Nama Protected Area is home to various species such as panther, wolf, wild goat, wild sheep, bear, owl, porcupine and weasel. This protected area can be visited during all seasons but its pleasant climate it particularly desirable during the summer.
